Inverse Condemnation - Part 1

This video series covers the evolving legal theory of inverse condemnation and its direct impact on those public water systems that own and operate water delivery systems. Inverse condemnation is a complicated legal theory presenting unique defense challenges for public water systems. The issue is particularly salient as physical injury to real property associated with a wildfire is now being linked as a wrongful taking by a public water system when their fire suppression infrastructure fails during a wildfire.

In this video, Joseph Salazar, partner with Lewis Brisbois, will provide a summary of inverse condemnation including its origins, precedent, and impact on public water systems.
